SNOW WHITE HONEST REVIEW

The movie was okay. Going into the film, reviews had been all over the place so I really didn’t know what to expect.

Rachel Zegler absolutely carries this film, beginning to end. No matter what you think about her personal opinions or things she has said, you can’t deny this girl has some serious talent.

Gal Gadot on the other hand, maybe it’s I have never seen her outside of Wonder Woman or the Fast & Furious movies, but it’s apparent she can’t act. There was no point in this movie that I believed her in this role. She looks the part and that’s about it.

I can see where people say the design of the CGI Seven Dwarfs are odd but you do eventually get used to it and get past it. The focus on Dopey was enjoyable and felt meaningful by the end.

One of the changes to the movie is The Prince. The character is changed to the bandit Jonathan and it actually helps the character giving him more importance and things to do. Andrew Burnap did a good job and did well to match Zegler’s energy.

There doesn’t seem to be an overall ‘Girl Boss’ feel to the film. It takes on the more traditional aspect of a girl finding herself in her world vibe. It’s very much in line with every other Disney Princess story told before.

There are a lot of musical numbers. I mean A LOT. There’s about one good one and the rest are forgettable. I think they should have reduced by a couple and put more focus into 3-5 big ones.

The end of the movie lands better than the original and is definitely more satisfying. Would have been interesting to see a full on battle, but it’s Disney.

Overall we are giving the movie a B-. It’s worth a watch but not important to see in theaters. If you have the extra dollars this month after groceries & gas, and need 2 hours to get away, it’s perfect. Otherwise I see this movie doing very well when it hits Disney+.
