The beginning of the end is finally here for BLEACH fans. Johnny Yong Bosch, who many fans know as Adam Park, the Black Mighty Morphin Power Ranger, returns as Ichigo Kurosaki in BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity. While many are calling it a movie, the theatrical event is actually a special screening of the first three episodes of the anime’s fourth and final season, hitting U.S. theaters from June 25 – 29 before its July television and streaming debut. The event will be shown in both English dub and Japanese with subtitles and will feature exclusive behind-the-scenes content and interviews with creator Tite Kubo and the anime’s directors.

Bosch is joined by a legendary English voice cast that has helped define BLEACH for nearly two decades. Returning cast members include Michelle Ruff as Rukia Kuchiki, Stephanie Sheh as Orihime Inoue, Derek Stephen Prince as Uryu Ishida, Dan Woren as Byakuya Kuchiki, Doug Erholtz as Kisuke Urahara, Robbie Daymond as Jugram Haschwalth, and Richard Epcar as the Quincy King Yhwach. The final season picks up as the Soul Reapers launch their last desperate assault against Yhwach and his forces in a battle that will determine the fate of all worlds. Fans are especially excited because creator Tite Kubo has been working closely with the anime production, leading many to expect expanded fights, new scenes, and surprises not seen in the original manga.

For many longtime viewers, The Calamity is a bittersweet moment. BLEACH returned in 2022 after nearly a decade away and quickly became one of the most acclaimed anime productions in the industry thanks to its animation, music, and action sequences. Now, fans are preparing to say goodbye once again as Ichigo’s journey reaches its final chapter. Across social media and fan communities, excitement for the theatrical premiere has been tremendous, with fans eager to experience the final arc on the big screen while also reflecting on a series that helped define a generation of anime fans. Whether you’re a lifelong Soul Reaper or a newcomer to the franchise, this final season promises to be one of the biggest anime events of 2026.
