New Jason David Frank Documentary ‘The Dark Side of Power Rangers’ Coming in April To MAX

As previously reported by ‘The Legacy of Nerd’ in June of 2024, a documentary on the life of Jason David Frank will soon be coming to MAX.

The documentary will be an episode of a new series called ‘Hollywood Demons’ focusing on stories about celebrities with either tragic or dark stories. The show description reads:

‘Pulls back the glamorous curtain of fame to expose the hidden struggles, sacrifices and scandals of life in the spotlight. From the seemingly cursed dynasties like the Von Erich wrestling family to iconic figures like 7th Heaven’s pastor dad Stephen Collins, who are far from their beloved characters, and series plagued by peril and misfortune like Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and The Real Housewives, this new series unveils the shadowy underbelly of Hollywood.“

The episode titled ‘The Dark Side of Power Rangers’ will be the 3rd and be available to watch on MAX, April 27, 2025. The episode description reads:

“Every ’90s kid remembers Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the ultimate live-action, superhero show. Beneath the bright spandex and high-flying karate kicks lies a grim reality of tragedy and scandals. Viewers will watch never-before-seen footage of a fan-turned-gunman who had one horrifying mission: to assassinate the show’s most legendary star. And just a few years later, the same actor meets a grim fate.”

As stated above, The Legacy of Nerd reported this back on June 10, 2024 but at the time did not know the release date or title, only that one was in production intended to be on MAX or a Discovery owned channel.
