Black Phone 2 comes out this weekend taking advantage of the Halloween Season and audiences are largely going to leave this movie satisfied.
Black Phone 2 is a really good movie and genuinely makes the first movie better by adding lore to the story that just works. As most horror sequels feel forced, this feels like a legitimate extension that just flows really well.
We see Mason Thames’ character Finney emotionally deal with the events of the first movie and how it’s affected him. His performance was amazing and you not only understand him, his performance makes you feel what he is feeling.
We also see his sister Gwen, played my Madeline McGraw, trying to navigate her own life and dealing with her dreams that are the basis of this movie.
Even The Grabber’s return makes sense as well and Ethan Hawke is still just as haunting.
This is a great movie to see in theaters and highly recommend.
